Getting here
By car
From Ljubljana over the Vršič pass in summer, otherwise via Tarvisio and the Predel pass, or up the Soča valley through Kobarid. From Italy over the Predel pass or via Cividale and Kobarid. In Bovec, follow the street called Klanc to the west side of town.
Parking
Free parking at the house, no reservation needed. The last stretch is on narrow streets, but with little traffic.
Airports
Klagenfurt about 96 km (1 h 10), Trieste 103 km (1 h 40), Ljubljana 135 km (1 h 45).
By bus
Buses stop in the centre of Bovec, a few minutes’ walk from the house.

Water, mountains and history.
Kanin
The cable car from Bovec climbs towards the summit of Kanin. In winter it is the highest ski area in Slovenia, linked with Sella Nevea in Italy.
Boka and Virje waterfalls
Boka is one of the most powerful waterfalls in Slovenia, and Virje below Plužna has an emerald pool. Both are under a quarter of an hour’s drive.
Gorges and Trenta
The Great Soča gorge and the riverside trail up into the Trenta valley, the heart of Triglav National Park.
Mangart and Loška Koritnica
The Mangart road is the highest road in Slovenia, and the Loška Koritnica valley is one of the finest for walks.
Kluže, Ravelnik, paragliding
Kluže fortress above the Koritnica gorge, the Ravelnik open-air museum of the Isonzo Front, and tandem flights over the valley.

Open all year
Summer is for the Soča, hiking and cycling, autumn for coloured forests and quiet trails, winter for skiing on Kanin and ski touring. Both apartments are heated, and heating is included in the price.
